10 Million Free Books!

Smart Start and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library are thrilled to announce that 10 MILLION BOOKS have been gifted to the children of North Carolina through the Smart Start Network with support of the NC General Assembly!

The program ensures that every child can have access to their own books, regardless of their family’s income. According to Smart Start and Dolly Parton Imagination Library data “on average, parents who participated in Imagination Library for four months or more reported an increase in reading to their children daily from 43% before they began receiving books to 67% after participating in Imagination Library. In the last fiscal year, 25% of families surveyed could not buy books for their children without the program.”
